Physical activity is medicine for older adults
We don't want to survive each day, we want to live each day and enjoy each moment. That is hard to do when your body aches, you are impossibly stiff, and you spend most of your energy trying to do things that you did before thoughtlessly and effortlessly. Hard to whistle when you are drowning.
But there are well studied and established ways to improve one's life drastically. Now, this does not involve strenuous and hung ho type of engagements. The strategy is simple: One step at a time, one breath at a time, one movement at a time.
Why do water exercises work? Because they decrease significantly the pressure on the joints and enable gentle movement. But one cannot do sit-ups, abdominal training and squats underwater. The same goes for many other types of exercises. Well, we have a way around that with assisted training methods that allow you to do things you have not done in many, many years. We do so by reducing your weight the same way it is done in water exercises but with all kinds of exercises and in all directions.
Along with that, we couple our treatment modalities to help the tissue regenerate slowly. When needed, we assist with basic nutritional advice on know boosting methods that have scientifically proven results.
